*       May 4-6, 2007 Asilomar conference on Rethinking the "War on Terror": New Strategies in U.S. Foreign Policy.

The new phone conference calling capability is paying dividends in that we are able to accommodate members that are out of town. The primary discussion focused on promoting the June 8th Take Back America event. Actions that followed included contacting friends, calling existing members that live in Sacramento, scheduling two radio spots on 1240 AM, and distributing flyers. Attendees also volunteered to help promote Teach Peace at the Whole Earth Festival the following week.

A match offer was announced in the meeting and we discussed how we could maximize this match effort.

Observations about the World Affairs Council Rethinking Terrorism conference were also discussed. A key theme is the people and corporations that fund an organization do influence the message (e.g., the conference received significant support from Chevron).

The meeting concluded with a reminder that the next monthly meeting is June 2nd.
